There are so many options to indulge in Turkish breakfast!Istanbul ,which is the largest city in Turkey, not only has a lot of famous restaurants but also some lesser known bistros. Here are the best places to enjoy a Turkish breakfast!

Pişi&Beşiktaş

This unpretentious place is part of the popular Besiktas shopping district “Breakfast Street”. There are many other places in the area that offer breakfast, but people like coming here for its fame.

Known by its namesake, this lovely place serves fried dough or Pişi. In addition to the normal varieties, pişi is also stuffed with different cheeses, sausages, cold cuts, minced meat and braised lamb. Special sauces with basil and jalapeños are also available.

This place is famous for its unique burgers and hot jalapeño, pesto and eggplant puree (known for the Hunkar Beğendi dish).

Namli Gurme

The main branch of Namlı Gurme in Karakoy can be described as a foodie haven in many people’s eyes in Istanbul.

Food prices are expensive here, this lively place is your one-stop shop for Turkish breakfasts and samples of local delicacies — honey, halva, dried and bacon, molasses, pickles and dry goods.

This deli-restaurant hybrid offers a unique concept very close to the Karakoy ferry terminal that connects to the Asian side. The hostess assigns a table for everyone.Once you’re ready, you can go to the deli to order your breakfast. Breakfast specials like böreks are must order and don’t forget to try the Menemen! For example, cheese is priced per slice. Bacon and dried meats (aged pastrami) are on the menu, and hot appetizers are made to order. And of course, heavenly Kaymak with local honey is on the menu! Since it’s also a deli, you can take away some of your favorites!

Likewise, don’t forget to visit the nearby bookstore Rob389 or Homer Bookstore. Alternatively, you can visit the bright bookstore-café hybrid Fil, and stroll around Galata Tower.

Galata Konak

This terrace restaurant offers 360-degree panoramic views of the Golden Horn, Galata Bridge and Galata Tower. On the one hand, you have a great view of Eminönu’s old quarter and the Golden Horn.

On the other side, you’ll see residential towers and Galata Tower dominate. Step up to the tiled floor and stained glass windows above the metal doors and you’ll find a tacky interior area with lots of tables and art on the walls. However, it is the terrace that refreshes you with its unparalleled views.

Enjoy a breakfast platter with Su Böreği (water börek), tahini and pekmez (molasses) and Macar (Hungarian) salami. Otherwise, for those who are looking for something instead of breakfast, there are snacks and staples.

Forno Balat

Forno Balat offers buffet-style breakfast on weekends and is located in the colourful Jewish quarter of Fener Balat, not far from the Golden Horn and the old quarter. On the menu, you’ll find Black Sea-style Pide as well as Turkish pizza (aka Lahmacun) and Italian-style crispy pizza.

This small breakfast joint has quickly become a local favorite, serving a hearty buffet with a selection of local cheeses and olives. First, the menu features stone oven eggs, local pepperoni, organic jams, butter croissants and unlimited tea.

They also offer an à la carte breakfast option at a lower price. Also on the drink menu are homemade fresh mint lemonade and a fermented radish drink called şalgam. Finally, to sweeten your breakfast, try Forno’s special organic apricot soufflé!
