The 2021 MG V80 in the Australian market has been announced earlier this month. Before it hits showrooms, MG will enter into a partnership with BMW for a large SUV to rival the BMW X5. According to an official statement, the large SUV is available in four trim levels, each offering a similar level of standard equipment. But if buyers pay an additional $10,000, they can gain luxury packages.

MG V80

The MG V80 is the first result of this establishment, starting at $90,600 plus on-road costs. The flagship model tops out at $108,600, with two additional power train options. Power for the entry-level MG V80 is the 2.5T, which, as the name suggests, is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 224 kW and 422 Nm. The drive is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the aforementioned full claw system, it adds a third row of seats. If you choose to buy the luxury package, you can get power conditioning. And customers looking for a diesel model can opt for the MG V80 3.0D all-wheel drive, starting at $103,600, plus on-road fees.

Now let us go through the standard kit of 2021 MG V80. This model boasts a large amount of versatile equipment, to name a few, 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, augmented reality satellite navigation, and also 12-way power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats with memory and four-way lumbar support. The safety technologies are also plentiful, offering the biggest protection both to drivers and passengers. For example, it is installed 10 airbags with one between the front passengers, driver attention monitoring, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. And what about the Luxury Package that is worth $10,000? What does it consist of? The claimed Luxury Package has 12 features altogether, including Tri-zone climate control, 18-way power-adjustable massaging driver’s seat, and Low-speed reverse autonomous emergency braking and so on. Because the article is limited, here it is pity for us to skip their detailed introduction. If you are interested in this Luxury Package, you can dig it out on the official website.

As far as I am concerned, the driving experience of MG models is all the time smooth and pleasant. In fact, when you’ve been driving any MG model for a while, your mindset as a driver can be affected. For example, you start to think about factors that you didn’t think about before and become more comfort-oriented in your driving experience. Especially if you are driving an electric MG, once you get used to charging your MG anytime and anywhere, you become carefree, at least when it comes to gas prices. You will find no difference between driving an electric car and a regular car.

On top of that, driving an electric car is more enjoyable and comfortable in the suburbs. Because you don’t need to constantly step on the gas and brake in stop-and-go traffic, it’s like refueling your electric car every time you step on the gas. Although the MG V80’s throttle response is effortless, you’ll get bored. And in the suburbs, where there is less foot and vehicle traffic, driving the MG V80 turns into a strangely satisfying experience. You can get in and out of spaces with ease and move quietly through the streets, generating a sense of serenity. The cabin of MG V80 is also to be commended for the very smooth and quiet ride quality inside the cabin. Thanks to the panoramic sunroof, the interior is ventilated, and the air is fresh. All in all, driving the MG V80 can be a pleasure.
